Anne Muntges is a Brooklyn-based artist working in drawing, printmaking, and installation. Her work focuses on everyday spaces of movement, such as stairwells, corridors, platforms, and thresholds, places that quietly shape how we move through the world. Using slow, repetitive pen-and-ink drawing, she builds dense fields of line on white surfaces, treating drawing as a way to stay with a space long enough to understand it

Anne Muntges is a Brooklyn-based artist working in drawing, printmaking, and installation. Her work focuses on everyday spaces of movement, such as stairwells, corridors, platforms, and thresholds, places that quietly shape how we move through the world. Using slow, repetitive pen-and-ink drawing, she builds dense fields of line on white surfaces, treating drawing as a way to stay with a space long enough to understand it. Muntges gathers fragments from her surroundings, including photographs, discarded objects, and architectural remnants, and reworks them into images that sit between observation and memory, where familiar structures feel slightly unsettled. Her drawings often expand into panel-like groupings and immersive installations that invite close looking and sustained attention. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including at the Children’s Museum of the Arts, the Ukrainian Institute of Modern Art, and Museum MORE in the Netherlands, and is held in collections such as the Library of Congress and the California College of the Arts.
